I am a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Communication at Cornell University. My research centers on health and environmental risk communication.
I received my M.S. from Cornell in May 2007.
At Cornell, I am a member of the Risk Communication Research Group. Professionally, I am a member of the
(1) Human Dimensions Research Unit (Dept. of Natural Resources, Cornell University)
(2) International Association for Society and Natural Resources
(3) International Communication Association's Health Communication Division.
(4) Communicating Science, Health, Environment, & Risk (COM-SHER) Interest Group of AEJMC
(5) Society for Risk Analysis (SRA)'s Risk Communication Specialty Group.
Before coming to Cornell, I completed a B.S. degree in Health and Environmental Policy at Cook College (Rutgers University). I also worked as a Research Assistant at the New Jersey Center for Public Health Preparedness at UMDNJ.
Aside from research, I am involved in Teaching Assistant (TA) Development training at Cornell as part of the Center for Teaching Excellence. Specifically, I teach workshops on issues such as grading, dealing with students in office hours, and effective presentations.
In my spare time, I enjoy running, hiking, sports, surfing, traveling, spending time with friends, movies, magazines and watching TV. I am a huge fan of America's national parks, having visited 11 since 1998 (with many more hopefully in the future) |
