Chris is a 3rd year Ph.D. student in the Communication department. His research interests, broadly defined, center on health and environmental risk communication. His specific interests include: (1) How risk messages are sought and interpreted by audiences; (2) Implications for persuasive and deliberative communication strategies; (3) How risk messages are created by different sources, such as the mass media Chris focuses on integrating theoretical and practical perspectives from a variety of disciplines, including public health, natural resource management, communication, sociology, and psychology.
